How the maker works

A turkey disguise is a paper turkey dressed up so nobody would guess it is a turkey. Everything on this page is drawn by hand as line art, so it prints crisply and costs no ink on big filled areas.

  1. Pick a turkey. Fan tail, simple or big full-page.
  2. Pick a costume. 23 to choose from, or none.
  3. Choose coloring or cut-and-paste.
  4. Add a name and writing lines.
  5. Download the PDF on Letter or A4.

Three turkeys to start from

Fan tail The classic turkey with a full fan of feathers.
Simple Five big feathers and thick lines for little hands.
Big full-page A tall turkey that fills the page, with room for lots of decorating.

Questions

Is the turkey disguise template free?

Yes. You can download one printable page at any time, with no sign-up. The page has a small “Made free at Turkey Disguise” line at the bottom. The Free Costume Pack and the Free Teacher Class Pack are free this year in exchange for an email address, and the PDF downloads straight away.

Does it print on A4 as well as US Letter?

Yes. Choose US Letter or A4 before you download. The PDF is vector artwork, so the lines stay sharp at any size, and the turkey is scaled to fit inside the margins.

What do you do with my email?

We use your email only to send next year's new costumes and reminders if you tick the box below; we never share it. The box to hear from us is unticked until you tick it, and you can get the pack without it. No email is sent when you download.

Are there pilgrim or Native American costumes?

No. All costumes are everyday jobs, animals, foods and fantasy characters we made up, so they work in any classroom. If your class wants a different idea, the blank turkey is there for anything you can imagine.

What is the cut-and-paste pieces mode?

It prints a plain turkey with the costume pieces laid out separately underneath, each inside a dashed cut line. The child colors the pieces, cuts them out and glues them on, so they can build the disguise instead of coloring it.
